Jamie Jacob Spicer, 53, of Statesboro, Georgia, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at his residence.
Memorial graveside services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Brushy Creek Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Harris Johnson officiating.
Mr. Spicer was born March 12, 1966, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late James L. & Lucille “Lucy” Gibson Spicer. He was a 1984 graduate of Irwin County High School. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from Valdosta State University in 2007. He worked as kitchen manager for Big Boy in Valdosta and assistant manager for Pinecrest Lodge in Athens. He was a warehouse supervisor for Leroy International in Valdosta and outbound supervisor for Dugan Freight Lines. He also worked as customer service supervisor for Wilson Trucking in Valdosta. He was a writer and enjoyed reading, especially history. He was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by a sister, Kay & Allen Branch of Irwin County and a brother, Alvin Spicer of Irwin County; two nieces, Krystle Wu and Kassidy Spicer and two nephews, Jonathan Branch and and Bryant Spicer. His parents preceded him in death.
