Catherine Cameron McLeod Libby

Catherine Libby, known to friends and family as Rena, resident of Tewksbury for over 60 years, passed away peacefully August 30, 2019 at the age of 86.

Beloved wife of Norman T. Libby they had just celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on June 5th.

She was born in Glasgow, Scotland (go Rangers!) on February 10, 1933 and was very proud of her Scottish heritage and becoming a US citizen.

She served as Assistant Treasurer at the Bedford VA Employee Credit Union for over 17 years.

She cherished spending time with her family and friends in both Tewksbury and their winter friends at Lakeside Village in Palm Springs, Florida and was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams.

She is survived by her children Karen Libby Moalli & her husband Richard of Guilford, CT; Debbie Libby Chemaly & her husband Steve of Chelmsford; Sherry Libby of Tewksbury & Salisbury; and David Libby & his wife Kerry Doherty Libby of Westford; 9 grandchildren - Jeffrey Chemaly (Erin), Jaime Chemaly Sullivan (Sean), Kate Cameron Morray (Patrick), Michael Moalli, Rachel Moalli, Sam Libby, Jessica Libby, Julia Libby and Isabelle Libby; 5 great-grandchildren - Brayden & Cameron Chemaly, Elliott & Charlotte Morray and Rowen Sullivan; and grandpups Buddy and Margarita. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews back in Scotland.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the care and support given to Rena by the staffs at D'Youville Skilled Nursing Center and Merrimack Valley Hospice.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00. p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Services are private.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Rena's name to Boston Children's Hospital Trust, c/o Kathy Raute, 401 Park Drive, Boston, MA 02215 (www.bostonchildrens.org).
