Funeral services for Estene Britt Blanchard, 88, of Sycamore, GA will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sycamore Baptist Church. Mrs. Blanchard passed away Saturday after an extended illness. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Ashburn, GA.
The daughter of the late Arver R. Britt and Ada Elizabeth Loyd Britt, she was born in Turner County. She was the widow of Henry Clay “Pete” Blanchard. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. She was a homemaker and former substitute teacher for Turner County Board of Education and a farmer’s wife. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church where she was very active and held many positions within the church and a true deacon’s wife.
Survivors include her children Marjorie (Dennis) James, Sylvester, GA; Nan B. Mixon, Tifton, GA; her brother, Lloyd (Judy) Britt, Warner Robins, GA; her sister, Christine Ryles, Montgomery, AL; grandchildren Melody (Joseph) Tawzer, Tifton, GA; Clay (Amanda) Mixon, Tifton, GA and great-grandchildren Amber (Will) Arnold, Tifton, GA; Katelyn Tawzer, Tifton, GA and a large number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
