Edna I. (Marquebreuck) Golini, age 78, a lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on August 30, 2019 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. She was the beloved wife for 57 years of Ronald F. Golini.
Born, raised and educated in Medford, Edna was a graduate of Medford High School. She raised their four children in Medford, and she formed many of her best friendships through their experiences with the youth hockey programs. Edna cherished those connections which still remain today.
Mrs. Golini was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking and was always trying new recipes to please her husband, children and grandchildren. Edna loved to celebrate the holidays and family gatherings were made special by her loving touches.
She worked as an Admissions Director for many years at a local nursing home. In her spare time, she enjoyed membership in the “Red Hat Society”, where she made many friendships. Edna was a kind and loveable person who has many friends and was always thinking of other people.
Additionally, she was a volunteer at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital gift shop. Gardening and tending to flowers gave her great pleasure. Edna and her family spent summers on Arlington Pond in Salem NH, in a lakefront home built by her parents. This was where she was happiest.
In addition to her husband, Ronald, Edna is lovingly survived by her children: Ron J. Golini and his wife Laura of Medford, Lisa A. Hughes of Burlington, David J. Golini of CA, and Christopher J. Golini and his wife Kirsten of North Andover. She was the dear sister of Mary “May” Marquebreuck of Medford and sister-in-law of Diane Golini of Stoneham, and the cherished "Nana" to Diana Berg and her husband Ben, Elena Golini, Nicholas Golini, Julia Hughes, Daniel Hughes, Daria Hughes, Trent Golini and Ainsley Golini.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Wed. Sept. 4, from 4-8PM, and again on Thursday, at 9AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
