Benita Iacopucci (Trinci), a long time resident of Somerville, passed away at the Oak Knoll Health Care Center in Framingham on August 24. She was 86 years old. Born in Fosciandora, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Beatrice (Stefani) Trinci.
Benita was employed at the Boston Globe for over 40 years. She began her career busing tables and in the kitchen working as a cook and through many years of hard and dedicated work, she rose to the position of Executive Chef until her retirement. Well known for her cooking skills, her Bolognese sauce was second to none. She was also a fabulous baker and would make the most delicious cakes and pastries.
Benita loved to travel and spend time at the beach. She enjoyed vacationing in Aruba, Dominican Republic and Cape Cod with her family. Her family was the most important part of her life. She loved and cared for them with the same tireless strength as she lived her own life.
Benita was the devoted wife of 64 years to the late Ivano Iacopucci. She was the loving mother of Amelia Igoe and her husband Donald of Framingham. Adored grandmother of Kristin Igoe-Guarino and her husband Nicholas of Medway, Rachel Igoe of Somerville and Joseph Igoe of Framingham. Loving great-grandmother of Cash Igoe Guarino and Gage Goodwin Guarino. Cherished aunt of Peter Austin and his partner Jennifer Rioux and the late Paul Austin and many more nieces and nephews. Benita was the dear sister of Mario Trinci of the United Kingdom, Tony Trinci of the United Kingdom and the late Osvalo Trinci and Amelia Austin.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Benita’s funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford on Friday August 30 from 8:30-10:30AM followed by a funeral mass in St Clement Church 71 Warner St., Medford at 11AM. Services will conclude with burial on Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
