Magilene Jane Reaves DeBerry, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, August 26, 2019, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends, Wednesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. DeBerry was born November 27, 1954, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Shellie & Nellie Smith Reaves. She lived most of her life in Northwest Georgia and moved to the community in 2013. She was a waitress for Ryan’s in Northwest Georgia and after moving to Fitzgerald, she was a waitress for Shoney’s. She enjoyed cooking, growing flowers, watching soap operas, game shows and police shows. She also enjoyed playing scratch off tickets. She will be greatly missed by her cats and her dog, Pepper.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Christopher DeBerry of Fitzgerald; her mother-in-law, Elaine DeBerry of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Keisha Lashanna Smith, Olin Latreal James Nunn and William James Nunn, III; two great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses: Barbara Ann Walker of Fitzgerald, Jeanette & Marlis Kitchens of Heflin, Alabama, Carolyn Griner of Brunswick, Mary Nell & William Graham of Georgetown, Jerry & Beverly Reaves of Rochelle, and Brenda Carelock of Tifton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Parrish; four brothers: J.D. Reaves, John Taylor Reaves, Jack Reaves, and Frankie Reaves; and a sister, Donna Sue Reaves.
