Frances Wynelle “Wynie” Howell, 94, of Tifton, Georgia, died Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Legacy Village in Tifton.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Monday, August 26, 2019, at Irwinville Cemetery in Irwin County, Georgia, with Chaplain Josh Bennett officiating.
Ms. Howell was born May 23, 1925, in Turner County, Georgia, the last child of the late Bartow C. & Lydia Wright Howell. She was a graduate of Mystic High School. Following graduation, she moved to Virginia and worked on airplane engines during World War II. She later began her career at AT&T, retiring as a draftsman. She moved to the family homeplace in Irwin County in 2002 along with her sister Chloe Howell Duncan before settling in Tifton for her later years.
She is survived by several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Woodrow Howell, Earl Howell, and John David Bailey; and five sisters: Pauline Story, Lilla Mae Howell, Lillian Booth, Chloe Howell Duncan, and Lucy Jarman.
