Giuseppe "Joe" Rinella of Medford died on Friday, August 23 at Massachusetts General Hospital of Boston. Born and raised in Barletta, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico and Elisabetta Rosa (Destaso) Rinella. Joe moved to the U.S. with his beloved wife Agatina "Tina" (Bottari) Rinella in the early 1960's, settling first in New York City before moving to Boston in 1968. He has lived in Medford for the past 40 years and was employed as a Tailor for Ralph Lauren. Joe was an avid walker and loved to swim in the ocean. He loved good food and visiting Boston's North End.
Joe was the devoted father of Elisabeth Rinella-Schofield and her husband Paul of Medford, and Domenic Rinella and his wife Janice of Danvers. He was the loving grandfather of Anthony Schofield, and Michael and Abby Rinella. Joe was the dear brother of Rena of Italy, and brother-in-law of Maria Gammacurta and her husband Carlo of Roslindale, Carmelo Bottari of Revere, John Bottari and his wife Maria of Everett, Antonio Bottari and his wife Katheryn of Brighton, the late Steven Bottari and his surviving wife Santina, and the late Joseph Bottari and his surviving wife Carmela, all of Revere. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, August 29 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, August 28 from 4 through 7 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Everett. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Joe's name to a charity of One's choice.
