Eleanor (Flint) Hines “Ellie” passed away at home after a long battle with COPD. She now joins her beloved husband, Danny Hines, who passed seven years ago. She was a daughter of Cyrus and Cordelia “Kitty” Flint and loved by her stepfather, Angelo Padula. She is predeceased by four brothers, John Slocum, Cy, Donald and Harold “Popeye” Flint all of Marlboro, MA where she was raised. Her and Danny met while working at the Frye Boot Factory in Marlboro, MA. She also spent many years working the counter at the Waltham Super Ette Snack Bar. She was a people person and many people stopped in just to chat with her regularly.
Ellie was a fun-loving person who had many friends and loved to be on the go. Her and Danny lived in Marlboro, Waltham, MA, Cincinnati, OH, Naples, FL and finally Derry, NH. They gathered friends everywhere they went. They enjoyed bowling, the Red Sox, diners, Oldies music, Hampton Beach and spending as much time as possible amongst friends and family. Ellie loved cats and had many throughout her life. The latest being Button who was her baby.
She leaves behind two sons, John Packard of Manchester, NH and David Packard and wife Jean of Chester, NH; a granddaughter, Jillian Packard of Derry and one great granddaughter, Kaylee.
After cremation, a memorial service was held Friday, August 30, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Church of the Transfiguration, 1 Hood Rd., Derry. Private burial will be held by the family in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham, MA at a later date. Because Ellie was an avid donor to many establishments, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Derry Meals on Wheels, 39 W Broadway, Derry, NH 03038.
