HOLLIS- Roberta Jean Nelson (Haley) of Hollis, known to most as Bobbi, passed away unexpectedly in her home on August 21, 2019. Bobbi was born in Westbrook ME on Dec. 29, 1950. She is predeceased by her husband Gary of 43 years, her parents Ralph D. Haley, Clara L. Haley (Libby) of Buxton ME, and her brother Larry R Haley.
Bobbi is survived by a son Robert Locke, and twin daughters Tammy and Tracy Nelson of Hollis, ME. Five grandchildren: Kristin, Clayton, and Dakota Locke, Alexis Nelson and Haley Nelson, Sister Patricia L. Davis and her husband of Buxton, ME, Sister Julie A. Chandler and her husband of North Carolina, Brother Ronald Haley and his wife of Buxton, ME and many Nieces and Nephews.
Bobbi grew up in Buxton and later moved to Standish with the love of her life Gary, where they raised their family and worked together to maintain their family farm. She would spend many weekends with her husband Gary working at County Crossroads Dance Hall. They later moved to Hollis in the late 90’s. Bobbi had various jobs over the years but her favorite was being a CNA at Maine Medical Center for 23 years. She had many amazing co-workers with whom some she made a lifetime connection.
Bobbi was passionate about watching her children and grandchildren grow up. She supported and encouraged them with their sports and endeavors in life. She loved time spent with family and many friends, especially the girls of R6. Various activities that she enjoyed over the years were walking, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, bowling, cards, and being involved with Girl Scouts.
Bobbi was a kind, open hearted, selfless woman. She had a quite strength and she rarely complained. If someone needed something she was there to open her home or her arms. Bobbi was funny and loved to joke around, because of this she had a unique bond with her niece Darla Giftos and they truly enjoyed each other.
At Bobbi’s request there will be no services. There will be a celebration of life held on Sept 14, 2019 at River Tap & Grill 52 Golf Course Ln. Hollis Ctr. ME (Salmon Falls Country Club) 2-4pm.
