Jane Hollis Butler, 93, of Tifton passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Maple Court Assisted Living in Tifton. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Butler at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Mrs. Butler will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 24, 2019, immediately following the service in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Born November 26, 1925 in Iron City, Tennessee, Mrs. Butler was the daughter of the late John Lem Hollis and Velma Hensley Hollis. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, James Lee Butler; one son; one daughter-in-law, Laura Butler; and two grandsons. She was an accomplished homemaker and a loving wife and mother. Her children remember that she had a real and personal relationship with God, and that they could always depend on her love and support. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tifton for over 50 years.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her children and their spouses, Kathy and Eddie Murray of Moultrie, Nancy and Bob Dailey of Dalton and Ben Butler of Georgetown, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
