Billie L. Stone, 95, of Ashburn passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his residence.
Billie was born in Elk City, Oklahoma on August 13, 1924 to the late John Noah and Earl Johnson Stone. He was a retired plant manager with Tide Products. Mr. Stone served his country with honor in the United States Army during World War II. He was an active member of the Ashburn First United Methodist Church where he held various leadership positions within the church. He was also active in various civic clubs including the American Legion Post 98, the VFW and the Rotary Club. He was a member of the Holiday Rambler RV Club. Billie enjoyed fishing, fox hunting, Auburn football, hanging out at Barnes Electric and breakfast at Pat's Place. He was also active in the ministry of visiting the homebound and the elderly. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University and was a member of the Auburn Alumnae Association.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim Stone of Atlanta, Georgia and Sherry (Hank) Greer of Fairfield, Connecticut; sons, Mike (Bonnie) Bloomfield of Atlanta, David Stone of Ashburn and Billy Stone of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Bryan (Lindsay) Bloomfield of Atlanta, Jeremy (Meagan) Bloomfield of Sugar Hill and Katie Greer of Los Angeles, California; great-grandchildren, Gracie Bloomfield and Brady Bloomfield of Atlanta.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat Stone, daughter-in-law, Kelly Stone and great-granddaughter, Cameran Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Ashburn First United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2019 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
