Nelligan, of Brockton, July 1, 2002, William L. Nelligan, 76 years. Father of Lauren Nelligan of MD, Kathryn Nelligan of VA, Shawn Clare and Peter Nelligan both of NY and the late William D. Nelligan. Brother of Mary Mullins of Brockton and the late Margaret Gilbane.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edward Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 2-4 & 6-8pm.

Obituary Information

William L. Nelligan, 76 years died Monday at the Meadowbrook of Canton, in Canton, MA after a lengthy illness. Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late William H. and Margaret (Burke) Nelligan. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, Manter Hall, Nicholas Jr. College in Dudley, MA and he also attended Boston University. Mr. Nelligan was a veteran of World War II having fought in the Battle of the Bulge on D Day and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Microdot, Inc. as a sales representative. He was a member of VFW Post 679 in Whitman, MA.

He is survived by his 3 daughters Lauren Nelligan of Chevy Chase, MD, Kathryn Nelligan of Richmond, VA, Shawn Clare of Watervliet, NY and 1 son, Peter Nelligan of New Rochelle, NY, one sister Mary Mullins of Brockton. He leaves his former wife Joan Nelligan of Stonington, CT and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late William D. Nelligan, and brother of the late Margaret Gilbane
