Carol R. ( Redonnet) Dixon, 88, of Plymouth, passed away on August 9, 2019 after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Marion Redonnet. Beloved wife for 63 years of the late Everard N. Dixon, she lived most of her life in East Bridgewater, where she and her husband raised their five children.
Carol attended Boston Latin School, Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School, and at the age of 63, earned her bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology from Bridgewater State College.
She worked for many years for the town of East Bridgewater in the assessor’s office, and volunteered with the Girl Scouts, the Council on Aging, South Shore Hospital, and the First Congregational Church of Hanson.
In addition to her work and volunteer activities, Carol had many interests and loves. She was an accomplished knitter and amateur radio operator (WA1POQ), enjoyed camping, was an avid reader, loved music and square dancing, and to spend time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the family’s lakeside camp in Maine. Carol traveled extensively with her husband, Ed. They went to Europe for their 25th wedding anniversary, went on many cruises with dear friends, and visited family around the country.
After they retired, they spent winters in Arizona. Carol was a faithful woman and was devoted to her church and church family. Carol made friends everywhere she went and always had a kind word to share. Many problems of daily living were solved over a soothing cup of tea. She always made room for one more at the dinner table.
In addition to her parents and late husband, Carol is predeceased by her sisters Barbara and Diane Redonnet, and brother, Stephen Redonnet.
She is survived by brother Warren Redonnet of Sebastian, Florida, and her loving children, Bradford and wife, Anna, Dixon of Bellingham, MA; Karin and husband, Jay, Huxman of Colorado Springs, CO; Shelley and husband, Robert, Dixon-Williams of Schroon Lake, NY; Lisa and husband, Myron, Winders of Plymouth, MA; and E. Delroy and wife, Linda, Dixon of Newport, ME. She is also survived by her adoring 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews across the country.

Funeral service will be at 11am on Thursday, August 15, at the First Congregational Church of Hanson, Hanson. Burial to follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
