PORTER- Leonard Charles Drowns Jr., age 73, passed away on Aug. 7, 2019 in Scarborough, surrounded by family.
He was born in Wolfeboro, NH on Sept. 5, 1945 to Leonard Drowns Sr and Margurite (Tappen) Drowns.
He is survived by his mother- Margurite Drowns of Porter; wife- Roxie (Davis) Drowns; son- Charlie Drowns and his wife Sue; and grandchildren- Morgan, Blake, and Carly.
Leonard enjoyed over 30 years as a firefighter with the Kezar Falls Fire Department; He also enjoyed sports, coached baseball, raced stock cars, and helped his son race four-wheelers.
His big love was camping with family and his dear friends Larry and Darlene, who made camping an adventure! Leonard was thankful when his son Charlie joined him to help run his business of 53 years, Lenny’s Service Station in Kezar Falls, which made attending doctor appointments easier.
His family will miss him every day; however, the memories he helped create will last a lifetime.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Gosnell Memorial House for their wonderful care and making his end so special.
Visitation will be held on Sunday Aug. 25 from 2 – 3 PM, followed by a 3 PM service at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in
Cornish.
