TEWKSBURY – Ronald A. “Ron” Hall, age 71, a former member of several town boards, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, August 7, at Blairehouse.
Ron was born in Lynn, a son of the late Thelma (Courage)(Hall) Hudson and William Hall, raised in Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School. He lived in Peabody for many years, where he was active in town politics, and also active in the Peabody Jaycee’s as a club officer. After moving to Tewksbury in 1990, he became active in Tewksbury’s Democratic Committee, and went on to be elected to the town’s Finance Committee. Ron served on the Tewksbury Memorial High School Building Committee, and the Patriotic Activities Committee, organizing the Memorial Day Parade, fundraising, and overseeing town activities at the Livinston Street town parks on July 4th. Ron was also a member of St. William’s Men’s Club, and active in the Tewksbury Lions Club. In spite of his decreasing vision and debilitated by diabetes in recent years, Ron remained active as a golfer, and was a frequent member of weekend golf outings throughout New England.
Ron worked as a purchasing agent at Visadyne in Burlington, and in retirement, as a professional assistant at the Tewksbury Funeral Home.
He leaves two daughters, Melissa D. Hall of Wilmington, Jennifer M. Hall of Tewksbury; two beloved grandsons, Ayden and Jaxon; a brother Gary Hudson and his wife Maureen of Peabody; a sister, Sally (Hudson) Fee of Rochester, NY; a former wife Lillian (Robbins) Hall of Tewksbury; several cousins and many dear friends; and was predeceased by his sister, Donna Elaine Hall; and his newlywed wife, Barbara Louise (Cross)(Hartford) Hall, who died on August 8, 2014.
Memorial Visiting Hours are Sunday, August 18, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
