William E. Greenwood, 71, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Monday August 5, 2019 surrounded by loving family at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born April 18, 1948 in Nashua, NH and was a son of the late Ernest and Charlotte (Turcotte) Greenwood. Mr. Greenwood was raised and educated in Nashua and has been a resident of Londonderry for the past 37 years.
Mr. Greenwood spent his entire working life as a builder and contractor, having built many homes and businesses across the country. He had been employed by Hirsch Construction of Danvers, MA for 20 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and the beach, helping others and was known to always have a project going on. Bill loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events and teaching them all to fish. He will forever be remembered for his great sense of humor and love of being a father and grandfather.
Members of the family include his loving wife of 37 years, Marsha (Atwood) Greenwood of Londonderry, his four daughters and their husbands, Holly (James) Gargano, Colleen Fredrickson, Shauna (Russell) Massahos and Barbara (Sean) Berthiaume, seven grandchildren, Cameron Gargano, Avery Bonanno, Parker and Ireland Fredrickson, Griffin Massahos, Carter and Ahnna Berthiaume, three brothers and their wives, Mark (Louise) Greenwood, Wayne (Joanne) Greenwood and Steven (Linjay) Greenwood, two sisters and their husbands, LuAnn (Kenneth) Moore and Janice (Richard) Reed, a brother-in- law, Frank Weibel and his wife Arlene and his beloved dog “Crosby”. He was predeceased by two sisters, Marilyn Greenwood and Charlene Weibel.
After cremation, calling hours were held Saturday August 10, 2019 from 1 to 3 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A memorial prayer service followed at 3 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
