Obituary

DiIORIO, Edward M. Of Dedham, August 5, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (McNeil) DiIorio. Devoted father of Michele Duplisea and her husband David of Hudson, and Edward M. DiIorio Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Carver.

Edward otherwise known to his family and friends as Eddie, was born on April 26, 1927 to the late Sentena & Michael DiIorio of West Roxbury, MA. Eddie was a brother to the late Sophie DeGrazio, Clair Montavani, Lillian DiIorio, and Louis Balboni. Eddie is survived by many numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Eddie was known to be the man who continue to work until the age of 89 1/2. He worked many years a heavy equipment mechanic for Sylvester Ray Construction, Marshfield Sand & Gravel, Southern Redi Mix. He started his adult life a an US Marine Private First Class in World War II just prior to the war ending. He then went forth to be an operator of heavy equipment following his honorable discharge from the marines.

Eddie was very proud to be a grandfather to his five married grandchildren, Kristen & Kyle Isola of Hanover, MA, Liana & Donald Delaney of Plymouth, MA, and Tiffany & Thomas Sullivan of Castle Rock, Colorado, as well as Keith Duplisea of Hudson, MA and Kristina & Peter Manougian of Hudson MA. In his later years of retirement Eddie was blessed to be a great Grandfather to five great grandchildren. They were the light in his life that made everyday wonderful as they would all come to visit him often. Their names are Logan and Luca Isola, Declan Delaney, and recent twins born July 1, 2019 Emmitt & Callie Delaney. Eddie's favorite thing to do with the grandchildren was to have them sit on his lap and take them for a spin around the yard on the lawn tractor, blades unengaged of course. Eddie loved his family dearly and its all the happy memories made over the years will bring his celebration of life alive with the images we hold within our hearts. This great man will never to be forgotten. Rest in peace Dad, Grampy and Great Grampy we all will miss you dearly.

Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Friday, Aug. 9 from 9:00-10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Denis Church, Westwood at 11:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
