Rita C. (Chabot) Baker, 100, of Westport, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter H. Baker.
Mrs. Baker was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Arthur and Rosanna (Plante) Chabot and had resided in Westport since 1953 and was a resident of Kimwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past 6 years. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she worked as a sewing machine operator for various area garment businesses. She was a past member of Greenwood Terrace Senior Citizens Center, Westport. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church and a past member of Our Lady of Grace Senior Citizen Club of Westport. Mrs. Baker enjoyed playing Bingo and cards.
Survivors include her 3 daughters: Janet Britland and her late husband James, Bernadette Palmer and her husband Laurence and Donna Ribeiro and her husband Jorge, all of Westport; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Roland Chabot, Romeo Chabot, Phillip Chabot, Alexander Chabot, Elzear L. Chabot, Bertha Morel and Lorraine Dufault.
