Eugene Rocco Guerrera, 79, of Barnstable, MA, passed away Tuesday, July 30, following a period of declining health. Born in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Rocco and Helen (Soluri) Guerrera.
Gene was a former Army reservist, who may or may not have gone awol to see his future wife. He attended Sacred Heart high school in CT. He graduated from Boston College, married his high school sweetheart and went onto a career in Finance. He was one of the first to receive the Certified Financial Planning (CFP) certificate, retiring as a Senior Vice President at Stifel Nicolaus.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia (O’Rourke) Guerrera, his two daughters, Nadine Guerrera and Alicia Boisseau, her husband Michael Boisseau and his two grandchildren, Rowan and Bradyn Boisseau. He is also survived by his brother Gerry Guerrera and predeceased by his son, Guy Patrick Guerrera.
Gene's family would like to thank the staff at Atria in Falmouth, Beacon Hospice Care and the Visiting Nurses for their incredible loving care and thoughtfulness.
Gene was an animal lover and rather than taking the human path to heaven, he's decided to go via the Rainbow Bridge so Kaydo Potato, Daisy Dog, Heather McFeather and TJ Fatty Puss will be there to greet him.
