Trudy Fletcher Marsh, 88, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Mrs. Marsh was born October 12, 1930, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Ennis & Winnie Wages Fletcher. She was a graduate of Ocilla High School. She lived in Atlanta for several years and worked for Georgia Power. After moving to Fitzgerald, she worked as a teller and billing clerk for Fitzgerald Water, Light & Bond. She taught all of her grandchildren how to swim and will be remembered as a wonderful cook and baker, especially her pound cakes. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was active in the MYF when her sons were younger as well as the UMW.
She is survived by sons and their spouses: Plyde Marsh Jr. & Terry of Macon, Johnny Marsh & Martha F. “Cookie” of Fitzgerald and Wesley Marsh of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jon Norman Marsh & Amanda, Michael Marsh & Marlena, Dawn Marsh Ryals & Chris, Melissa Marsh Jones & Clay, Melinda Marsh Stembridge & P.K., John Marsh, Madeline Marsh, Andrew Marsh, Ragan Reynolds, and Riley Reynolds; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles & Nancy Fletcher of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Plyde P. Marsh; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Wynn Marsh; two brothers: Mac Fletcher and J.T. Wages; and a sister, Margie Coley.
