Sara Elizabeth Medford Burnett, 94, of Eldorado passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at her residence. A private graveside service will be held for Mrs. Burnett at Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Mark Myers will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, August 2, 2019, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Robert Owens, Flynt Owens, Steve Brown, John Whiddon, Zach Veazey, Mike Owens and Evan Warren will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 16, 1924 in Eldorado (Tift County), Mrs. Burnett was the daughter of the late George Grady Medford, Sr. and Mary Ann Baker Medford. She was also preceded in death by one son, Joe Grady Burnett; two brothers, George Medford and H. C. Medford; and two sisters, Mary Jo Garvey and Nellie Irene Medford. She received her Associates Degree from Middle Georgia College.
Mrs. Burnett is survived by her husband, Robert E. Burnett of Eldorado; one son, Michael Burnett of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Steve Brown and Liz and John Whiddon, all of Eldorado; five grandchildren and their spouses, Anne Whiddon Veazey and husband Zach, Flynt Connor Owens and wife, Paige, Katy Owens Warren and husband Evan, Robert Michael Owens and wife Nellie, and Rebekah Rae Harper; and eleven great-grandchildren.
