New Bedford – Andrew H. Barksdale, age 85, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Ellen (Winchoba) Barksdale.
Andrew was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Grover C. and Mary A.B. (Leduc) Barksdale. Following his high school graduation, he went on to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree. Andrew was the proprietor of Andy’s Hair Salon, where he also worked as a hair stylist for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen; son, Scott Barksdale and his wife, Daniela; son, Jason Barksdale and his wife, Catherine; grandchildren, Noah, Hope, Hannah, Devin and his wife Christine, Trista, Maggie, Cody and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Jaide, Grayson, and Winona; sisters, Sara, Louise, Mary, Ruth and Florence; brothers, John, Charlie, Benjamin, Ernest, Thomas, Grover and Stonewall Jackson; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Jaie.
Andrew's funeral services are private.
