SPRINGFIELD – Cecile M. (Provencher) Chicoine, 96, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, July 29, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at her son Denis’ home in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Trois Rivières, Province of Quebec, Canada on February 26, 1923, a daughter of the late Ernest and Sara Provencher. She was raised in Canada and came to Springfield in 1955. She was employed in the houskeeping department at the former Wesson Memorial Hospital in Springfield. She was a communicant of the former Saint Joseph Church in Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Normand A. Chicoine who was Called Home on July 26, 1999. They were married on July 21, 1947 at Saint Joseph Church in Drummondville, P.Q., Canada and were blessed with over 52 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Denise E. Bellefeuille of Chicopee, Danielle G. Leary and her husband, Michael, of West Springfield, and Denis R. Chicoine and his wife, Ann, of Chicopee; her five cherished grandchildren, Kimberley Wilson and her husband, Michael, Nadine Bellefeuille, Michael Leary, Tammy Leary and her husband, Derek Curran and Jenny Leary; her seven cherished great-grandchildren, Kyle Shane Marston and his wife, Bonnie, Shyanne Fields and her husband, Austin, Darion Christopher Bellefeuille, twins, Michael Leary and Christopher Leary, Chloe Curran and Addison Curran; her two cherished great-great granddaughters, Madison Marston and Ally Marston; her eleven dear brothers and sisters in Canada; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Chicoine and Provencher families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her cherished granddaughter, Ashley Marie Brand. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, August 3, 2019 at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, August 3, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the Mass.
