James Richard Caddell, 56, of Franklin died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at his home after a long battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband of Margarita (Maldonado) Caddell for 18 ½ years.
Born in Norwood on March 13, 1963, he was the son of Joan (Savage) Caddell of Millville and the late Cecil Caddell.
Jim was a resident of Franklin for the past 9 years. He grew up in Millis and graduated from Millis High School, Class of 1981 where he excelled in many sports, especially football and track. He was recently inducted into the Millis Athletic Hall of Fame for his many accomplishments and achievements while playing football and running track.
Jim was a Certified Specialist of Wine working for M.S. Walker for many years.
He was an avid golfer and frequent winner of the “longest ball” competition.
In addition to his wife and mother, Jim is survived by his son Carl Caddell of South Carolina, his daughter Julia Caddell of Bellingham, his step-daughter Jessica Connolly of Franklin and his grandson Caden Connolly.
He is also survived by two brothers David Caddell of Tennessee and John Caddell of Millville, a sister Susan Hourihan of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
He was the step-father of the late Christopher Connolly.
His funeral services will be held privately at the request of his family.
