Obituary

WORCESTER-James D. Acker, Sr., 54 of 54 Dover Street died Saturday, January 14th in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife, Linda A. (Alger) Acker, a son, James D. Acker, Jr., 2 daughters, Nicole M. and Charlene L. Acker all of Worcester, a brother, Richard Acker of Wareham, a sister, Doreen Carson of Pasedena, MD and a granddaughter, Deondra N. Berry of Worcester.

He was born in Worcester the son of Donald and Frances (Powers) Acker. Mr. Acker was a graduate of Doherty Memorial high School, and was an Army veteran serving in Korea during the early 1970’s. He had been employed as an inspection supervisor at St. Gobain Incorporated. Mr. Acker was a member of Tatnuck Post 288 American Legion.

The funeral is Tuesday, January 17th with a service at Noon in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral. Mr. Acker’s family extends an invitation to the Tatnuck Post 288 American Legion, 570 Mill Street, Worcester, following the burial.
