Obituary

CHICOPEE____A. Peter Ewick, 79, of Chicopee, formerly of Harwich and Worcester, died Friday January 13 in his home.

He leaves his wife, Bertha (Babijonas) Ewick, a son, Richard Ewick of Worcester; two daughters, Claudia Jorge of Chicopee and Sandra Guillot of Princeton; a sister, Barbara Trocki of San Diego, CA, eight grandchildren, Kara, Kristen, Kimberley, Erin, Christopher, Ashley, Thomas and Abigale and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley “Stitch” Ewick and Joseph J. Ewick. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Peter and Mary (Kurdziel) Ewick and later lived in Medford Lakes, NJ, Woodstock, CT, and Harwich before moving to Chicopee.

Mr. Ewick was a production and sales manager 21 years for Loos & Co., of Pomfret, CT and retired in 1993. Before then he worked for CF & I Co., in Worcester and Trenton, NJ. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Polish American Veterans Post, Indian Orchard.

Mr. and Mrs. Ewick were married in 1949. Peter enjoyed golfing and the beach and he loved the Boston Red Sox. He graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade High School.

The funeral will be held on Monday January 16 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 am. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, Princeton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday January 15 from 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holyoke VNA Hospice Life Care, 28 Appleton St., Holyoke, Ma 01040.
