CHICOPEE ~ Jeremiah J. Boucher, Jr., 92, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2019 where he was embraced by his loving wife and daughter who passed before him. Jeremiah was born on October 26, 1926 and raised in Chicopee. The son of Jerry and Catherine (Carroll) Boucher, Jerry was a parishioner of Holy Name Church. Graduating from Chicopee High School in 1944, Jerry enlisted in the Army. After discharge, Jerry began his career at Spalding Sports. Ending his career as Director, “J” wore many hats. During his 57 years with Spalding, J worked in accounting, auditing, stock control, distribution and traffic/materials management. Upon retirement in 1993, he continued consulting with the company until 2002. One of the greatest joys of his life was building homes with his son, David, and their company, Concept Enterprises. An avid computer programming wiz, he loved taking college computer courses for enjoyment. At the age of 59, Jerry finally earned his Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College. Jerry was a passionate volunteer with the Chicopee Hockey Association, 38-ers Athletic Association, Chicopee School Committee, a flag football coach and the organizer of the Spalding Bowling League. He also loved to play Santa Claus each Christmas. Jerry was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen (Lelito) Boucher; and beautiful daughter, Brenda Boucher-Puputti. He is survived by his three sons, Eric Boucher and his wife, Debra (LaPointe) Boucher of Westfield, David Boucher and his wife, Elizabeth Marsian-Boucher of East Longmeadow, Karl Boucher and his fiancée, Holly Salemi of Westfield; and his son-in-law, Mark Puputti from Leominster. He also leaves his sister, Carol Rahilly of Agawam; his sister-in-law, Bertha Lelito of Chicopee; and was predeceased by his brother, Thomas of Chicopee. Always their Jaju, Jerry leaves his eight beloved grandchildren, Amanda (Boucher) Gower, Jeffery Boucher, Alicia Puputti, Marissa Puputti, Jonathon Boucher, Maria Boucher, Matthew Boucher and Julia Boucher; and his great grandson, Garrett Gower. His family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Requiem High Mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Mother of the Rosary Polish National Catholic Church, 26 Bell Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. His Burial will United States Army Military Honors will follow the Mass at Holy Mother of the Rosary Polish National Cemetery, 1 Bennett Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.
