CHICOPEE ~ June R. Knightly, 97, a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, July 26, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at South Hadley surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on June 13, 1922, a beloved daughter of the late John J. and Cecile M. (Lafleur) Knightly. She was raised in the Willimansett section of Chicopee and moved to Fairview around 1952. June was a graduate of Chicopee High School and later graduated from the Hampden County School of Pharmacy on Chicopee Street in Willimansett. She was a Registered Pharmacist and the Co-Owner for over 40 years of the former Knightly’s Pharmacy on Chicopee Street in Willimansett. She was a communicant of Sainte Anne Church in Chicopee. She leaves her dear sister-in-law, Barbara Knightly of South Hadley; and her many dear nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her six dear siblings, Arthur Knightly, Doris Lawrence, Dorothy Rae, John Knightly, Francis Knightly and Robert Knightly. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
