Ivano Iacopucci, a longtime resident of Somerville, passed away peacefully, July 25, 2019, at the Oak Knoll Nursing Center in Framingham following a lengthy illness. He was 85. Ivano was the beloved husband for 64 years of Benita (Trinci) Iacopucci. Born in Fosciandora, Italy he was the son of the late Salvo and Lidia (Torlai) Iacopucci.
Prior to his retirement Ivano worked in the construction industry as a talented laborer and technician with the Means Precast Industries and the Granite Research Co. He was a dedicated and loyal employee for over forty years and was very proud of the work he did throughout the years on many of the buildings of Boston's skyline. In his leisure time, Ivano enjoyed the outdoors stream fishing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and spending time with family and friends. However, Ivano's greatest joy was his family. He was passionate about his family and his devotion to his beloved wife Benita. Ivano will fondly be remembered for his always kind demeanor and being a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and dear friends.
In addition to his beloved wife Benita, Ivano is survived by his devoted daughter Amelia Igoe and her husband Donald of Framingham. He was the loving grandfather of Kristin Igoe-Guarino and her husband Nicholas of Medway, Rachel Igoe of Somerville, and Joseph Igoe of Framingham. He was the loving great grandfather of Cash and Gage Guarino. Cherished brother of Maria Concetti and her late husband Sammy of Newton, Alma Bartolozzi and her late husband Alfredo of Tewksbury, Frank Iacopucci and his late wife Maggie of Medford. He was the special uncle of Peter Austin and his partner Jennifer Rioux, and the late Paul Austin. He is further survived many more loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 main St., Medford, Wednesday, July 31st, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford
