Rosemarie A. (Gillis) Mulhern, 76, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday at the Lifecare Center of Attleboro after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Frederick F. Mulhern. Born in Boston, she was educated in Dorchester. A homemaker, Mrs. Mulhern also worked as a waitress for Albert’s Restaurant and the Cedar Lodge both in Stoughton for over 20 years each. She also worked at Merkert Enterprises in Canton. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and a former communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Stoughton. In her free time, she enjoyed singing, writing, cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children: Diane M. Murphy of NH, Brian W. Mulhern of Attleboro, Carolyn A. Mulhern of Brockton, Elaine M. Culver of Stoughton, Donald J. Mulhern of MN, Nancy M. Lynch on MI. She was the sister of Kay McWilliams of Medfield, Martina Duffy of Kingston, Lawrence Gillis and Herbert Gillis both of Canton, Joseph Gillis of Burlington, Joan Keenan of Weymouth and the late Ann Ruell, Betty Bertolon and Jean Callahan. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick and her children Frederick F. Mulhern, Janet M. Mulhern and Robert A. Mulhern. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, January 17 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-7 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
