...retired Administrator of Health Services at Wang; 84
TEWKSBURY - Therese Rose (Dupre) Tremblay, R.N., age 84, the former Administrator of Health Services at Wang, died January 13, 2006 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA after a courageous two year battle with leukemia. She was the wife of the late Lewis Tremblay, former Treasurer of the Town of Tewksbury, who died in March 2004.
She was born in Lowell, MA on June 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Firmin and Delia Dupre. She attended Notre Dame de Lourdes Grammar School and St. Joseph’s High School in Lowell. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital nursing school and received her RN designation in 1942. She had lived in Tewksbury for the past 58 years.
For several years she served as the emergency room supervisor at St. Joseph’s hospital. Later she served as treasurer of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Alumnae Association. She was employed for nineteen years as an occupational health nurse at Wang Laboratories and retired as the Administrator of Nursing Services for Wang.
Mrs. Tremblay was a communicant of St. William’s Church in Tewksbury and was a past member of their B.V.M. Sodality. In her later years, she was active at the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center.
Mr. and Mrs. Tremblay celebrated 55 years of marriage on May 31, 2003. They nurtured strong family ties by sponsoring numerous family gatherings including yearly visits to Loon Mountain, Hampton Beach, and Cape Cod.
Survivors include her four daughters and three sons-in-law, Denise Lamoureux and her husband Paul of Assonet, Celeste Campbell of Chelmsford, Michele Marino and her husband Frank of Tewksbury and Anne Moriarty and her husband John of Tyngsboro; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, Monique and her husband David Kobasa and their daughter Nicole all of Mansfield, Michael Lamoureux of South Boston, Brian Lamoureux of Plymouth, David Lamoureux of Lakeville, Brianne, Brooke, and Brett Campbell all of Chelmsford, Justin, Nicole, Christine, and Neil Marino all of Tewksbury, Tom, Kasie, and Kara Moriarty all of Tyngsboro; a brother Gerard Dupre of Tewksbury; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Marguerite and Jim King of Goffstown, NH, Jerry Ayotte of Fla., many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She will be sorely missed by all those she touched in such a positive fashion.
She was also sister of the late Beatrice Houle, Cecile Ayotte, and Henry Dupre, and sister-in-law of the late Tina Dupre, Robert Houle, Rita Quinn, Martha and Frank Keville, and Paul and Beverly Tremblay.
Her Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Jan. 17, at St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Tewksbury Hospital, Patient Fund, c/o Administration, 365 East St. Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be appreciated.
