CHICOPEE ~ Marie Shirley (Boyle) Grzelak, 84, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 18, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 26, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Daniel R. and Lillian G. (Brooks) Boyle. She was raised in Milwaukee, graduated from Pope Pius XI High School in Milwaukee and later attended the Charles of the Ritz Cosmetic School in New York, NY. She moved to the Aldenville section of Chicopee in 1956 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville and was a former member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality of the Church. She was a local Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader for many years. She was a wonderful artist and during her leisure time, she enjoyed arts, crafts and making beaded jewelry. Above all, she was a wonderful homemaker and loved being a wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great grandma to her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Edward G. Grzelak who was Called Home on March 14, 2006; and her cherished grandson, Austin F. Grzelak who was Called Home on March 16, 2019. She leaves her seven loving children, Edward J. Grzelak and his wife, Marjorie “Robin” Grzelak of Chicopee, Daniel J. Grzelak of Chicopee, James M. Grzelak and his wife, Donna, of Southwick, Anthony P. Grzelak of Chicopee, Theresa L. Grzelak of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Frederick D. Grzelak of Chicopee and Thomas J. Grzelak and his wife, Nancy, of Westfield; her 16 cherished grandchildren, Matthew Grzelak and his wife, Alyssa, Zachary Grzelak and his wife, Amanda, Stephanie Hurley and her husband, Rob, Crystal and Daniel Grzelak, Emily Grzelak and her husband, Carlos, James and Rachel Grzelak, Jeremy and Kirsten Pasterczyk, Thomas Piskorski, Samantha and Bryanna Grzelak, twins Joel and Peter Grzelak and Wilson Grzelak; her seven cherished great-grandchildren, Jackson, Benjamin and Zeke Grzelak, Riley, Madison and Liam Hurley, and Travis Grzelak; her cherished great-great-granddaughter, Adalyn; her dear brother, Daniel Boyle and his wife, Diane, of Heartland, WI; her dear sister, Louise Pokorny and her husband, Brad, of Sussex, WI; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Grzelak and Boyle families. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
