Michael McMahon, age 33, a recent resident of Chicopee, Massachusetts, unexpectedly passed away in Springfield on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. Michael was the son of Brian and Annemarie (Fitzgerald) of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Swampscott, Massachusetts. Michael was the beloved brother of Patrick McMahon of Roslindale, and Nicholas McMahon of Brighton. He is survived by his loving grandmother, Dorothy Fitzgerald of Yarmouthport, Massachusetts along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was born February 17, 1986. He was raised and educated in Swampscott. In his youth, he enjoyed baseball, swimming, sailing and was a hard-working ice hockey player.
Mike was always a reliable, intelligent and hard-working individual. He began his electrical career at age 18 spending two years at Wentworth Institute in Boston. At the time of his death, Mike was traveling throughout New England as a professionally licensed electrician affiliated with the IBEW Local 7 union of Springfield.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and loved him so dearly.
A funeral Mass will be said on Monday, July 22 at 12:00pm at Saint Catherine’s of Alexandria church, 107 North Main Street, in Westford, Massachusetts. Internment will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice,
