Worcester—Christopher W. Evers, 37, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii, raised in Worcester, and was a graduate of Burncoat Jr. & Sr. High Schools. He enjoyed CYC basketball and Worcester Youth Hockey. He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1990. He attended both Florida Community College in Jacksonville, FL and Worcester State College. He was a painter and carpenter with Daniel S. Dinoia Carpentry and Epic Contracting, Inc. Chris was an avid golfer with membership at Green Hill Park Golf Club. He loved painting, sketching, and solving crossword puzzles. He is survived by his father, Robert A. Evers; his mother, Janice L. (Zukowsky) Evers; his brother and sister-in-law, Derek A. and Tiffani C. Evers; his sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth M. and Salvatore A. Smarra; and his son, Jack Christopher and his mother, Thomasine Loader—all of Worcester. He also leaves his grandfather, Anthony J. Zukowsky of Worcester; a niece; 2 nephews; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street with a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at the funeral home.
