Aurelio M. Zaragoza, born in Ramos, San Luis Potosi, Mexico entered eternal rest on July 6, 2019 at the age of 89.
He married Celia Dueñas de la Rosa in 1954 and in 1956 they made Chicago their home, where they lovingly raised nine children.
Aurelio was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Zaragoza and Mariana Zaragoza Maldonado, as well as his sister Rosa Maria and brothers Luis, Pedro and Aquilino. He is survived by his brother Juan, and sister Altagracia Martinez, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He is profoundly loved and missed by his devoted and loving wife Celia and his nine children: Hector (formerly Lorna Cantrell), Rosemary, Celia (Joel Cañedo), Irma, Rebecca, Angel (Amelia Aguilar), Beatrice (Ruben Esparza), Juan, and Irene (John Gonzalez). His life and legacy will live on through his 15 grandchildren: Alicia, Olga, Antonio, Allison, Conrad, Matthew, Andrew, Madeleine, Lauren, Jacob, Andrea, Sofia, Edgar, Elisa and Emma. His memory will also be shared with his nine great-grandchildren: Anthony, Adam, Alivia, Makayla, Michael, Jorge, Oscar, Yvonne, Gabriela, and great great-granddaughter Alaina.
A Funeral Mass for Aurelio will be held on Thursday, July 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish, 6435 S. Kenneth Ave., Chicago.
The Zaragoza family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and blessings they continue to receive from loving family and dear friends.
