Jeffrey S. Englert, 21, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 in Providence, RI. Mr. Englert was born in San Diego, CA on April 11, 1984, a son of Michael R. Englert and Sheila S. (Lyon) Englert. He was a resident of Derry since 1996, formerly living in Groton, CT. Mr. Englert was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 2002. He was currently home on leave from the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Qatar. He enjoyed snowboarding, motorcycling and traveling. He also loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar.
He is survived by his father, Michael Englert of Derry, his mother, Sheila Englert of Scotland, a stepbrother, Scott S. Marienthal of England, his maternal-grandmother, Alice Alexander of Scotland, his paternal-grandparents, Robert and Arlene Englert of Mission, TX, one aunt and one uncle.
Calling hours were on Monday, January 16, 2006 from 5 – 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 17th at 10:00am in the funeral home with cremation following. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, P.O. Box 807, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425-0807.
