Bertice Lucille Butler Walker, 93 of Tifton passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Tifton Health and Rehab. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Walker will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 16, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jason Walker, Stacey Beard, Curtis Stafford, Will Stafford, Patrick Stafford and James Weldon will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Bynum, Billy Steward, David Steward, Johnny Walker and John Raiford Walker.
Born July 17, 1925, in Omega, Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the late Bennie Lee Butler and Lucy Akridge Butler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Alton Walker; one son, James Henry Walker, Sr.; two brothers; and one sister. Before retiring, she was employed by Eckerd’s Drugs and was a member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God.
Mrs. Walker is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann Walker Briggs and Clif Briggs of Lilburn; five grandchildren, Christopher James Walker, Kemberly Ann Wheeler Warr, Katherine Ann Wheeler Loffert, David Michael Walker and James Henry Walker, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Ann Warr Anderson, Kelsey Ann Warr, Kristina Annslee Loffert and James Alexander Loffert; and one great-great grandson, Ethan Douglas Eugene Anderson.
