Bernice (Block) Siegel entered into rest on Friday, July 12th, 2019 originally of Winthrop MA, then Israel, New York City, Old Bethpage, Amherst, Lexington, and, since 1982, Brighton, has passed at age 89 after a brief illness. Assistant to Abba Eban at the United Nations, College graduate at age 51, legendary administrator at Hampshire College and Tufts University, and volunteer at The Mozart School, her true legacy is a lifelong display of kindness, reason, and fairness that is not likely to be seen again in this broken world. She is survived by her daughter Amy Sicairos, her son Rob Siegel, her son-in-law Jose Luis Sicairos, her daughter-in-law Maire Anne Diamond, and her seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved fiercely. Services will be held on Monday, July 15th at 11AM at Temple Israel at 477 Longwood Ave, Boston. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Burial will be the following day, Tuesday next to her beloved husband Kenneth, who pre-deceased her by 51 years, at Wellwood Cemetery in Farmingdale NY.
