Obituary

Elizabeth “Betty” (Pechey) Lane, 71, of Hanson, passed away peacefully at home after a long courageous battle with cancer on Friday, July 12th.

Born in Brockton, Betty was the youngest of three born to Arthur Pechey and Angelina (Parziale) Pechey. She was the sister of Robert and Janet Pechey and Tom Stewart.

She was a graduate of Brockton High School, then married and raised two boys who meant the world to her. She went on to work at Holmes-McDuffy Florist and ultimately finished her career at Shaws Corporate Offices in the Accounts Payable Department from where she retired.

In retirement she spent time in Hanson and Pocasset, Ma. She especially loved the peace and tranquility of Pocasset in the summer with her loving, longtime companion Anthony (Tony) Natale. During her younger years she enjoyed ceramics, painting, and crafts. After she met Tony and because of his love for sports and games, Betty developed an interest in trips to Las Vegas, Foxwoods, playing Keno, the Patriots, and had become an avid NASCAR fan. Betty and Tony attended many races with their friends. Betty relished spending time at the Hanson Athletic Association with Tony where she formed many lasting friendships. Betty adored spending time with all her grandchildren. She loved knitting with her friends overlooking Bassett’s Island in Pocasset on warm, summer mornings and dinners with Tony and her friends. Over the last several months she enjoyed Thursday dinners with her sons, Marc and Kevin - when he could make it up from his home in Florida.

She is predeceased by her longtime companion Anthony (Tony) Natale. Betty is survived by her family and extended family including her son, Marc Lane and his wife Stacey of Mattapoisett, Kevin Lane of Altamonte Springs, FL, son Anthony (Tony) Natale Jr., and his wife Stacy of Foxborough, grandchildren Abigail, Benjamin, Paxton, Dominic, Ethan, Trevor and Alden.
