Virginia Marie Cadigan passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on Wednesday. She was 76. Born in Quinan, Nova Scotia, Canada she was the daughter of the late Dennis J. and Mary B. (Frotten) Meuse. She settled with her parents in Reading at the age of nine and later graduated Reading High School with the class of 1961. She then embarked on a career as an executive administrative assistant in the insurance profession beginning at American Mutual Insurance in Wakefield. She lived her married life in Medford where she and Emmett raised their three daughters. Ginny was a devout woman who was very active at St. Joseph Parish. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a big fan of Tom Brady and loved following the Patriots, Red Sox and golf. She was also proud to have become a citizen of the United States. Most of all, Ginny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.
The beloved wife of Emmett C. Cadigan, Ginny was a devoted mother to Kellie Mitchell of Tewksbury, Dawn Cadigan and her husband Christopher Galeazzi of Gypsum, CO, and Tracey Cammarota and her husband Marc of York, ME. She was a loving grandmother to Matthew, Christopher, Emily, Daniel and Mikey.
Ginny’s funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, July 15th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday 4 – 8 PM.
