Katherine (Tsiokas) Nanchu, 93, of Worcester, died Wednesday, July 10th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late James Nanchu. Katherine is survived by three sisters, Sophia Tsiokas, Thalia McGrath and Helen Pilitisis all of Worcester; two nephews, three nieces and several cousins. She was predeceased by eight brothers.
She was born in Chicago, the daughter of Nicholas and Marina (Boulis) Tsiokas and attended the former High School of Commerce, and later worked for many years as a clerk for Comfort Products. Katherine was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral; and will be remembered for her crocheting skills and fondness for scratch tickets.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 15th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Trisagion Service at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
