CHELMSFORD - Mrs. Ruth (MacKenzie) Danko, age 90, died Tuesday, July 9, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Danko, who died 1992.
She was born in Arlington in August 1928, one of four children of the late William and Irene (Elton) MacKenzie, and raised in Burlington. After graduation from Burlington High School, she went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Business from Burdett College in Boston. She raised her family in Waltham, and later moved to Chelmsford in 2004.
She worked at several law offices in the greater Boston area, and eventually retired as secretary of the First Baptist Church in Burlington, where she also served as an active member of the church community.
She leaves two daughters, Linda Danko and her significant other, Norm, and Christine Danko all of Dracut; a brother, Robert MacKenzie and his wife Marlene of CA; a sister, Joanne Pantano and her husband Dennis of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 12, at 9:30 a.m. in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Bedford St., Burlington. Memorials to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O.
