Brian A. Kenney, age 33 passed away suddenly on July 4, 2019 of a drug overdose. Brian was a loving compassionate caring person who fought this disease successfully for many years. He was born on June 4, 1986 in Springfield. Brian grew up in Westfield and played youth hockey. Brian received his Bachelor Degree from the University of Massachusetts and worked as a technician for The Butler Corporation in Ludlow. He enjoyed snowboarding and auto racing. He was an active member of the New England Region of the SCCA and NorthEast Formula Vee Racing. He is survived by the love of his life Ashley Erickson of Chicopee; his parents Thomas and Mary (Nunes) Kenney of Chicopee; his sister Jessica M. Kenney of Park City Utah; his grandmother Marguerite Quinn Kenney of Bradenton FL; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 15 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at the Grise` Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Brian did not believe you should miss a race or a vacation for a funeral or a wedding if you can not attend the service there will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
