Marguerite A. Ronan, 85, of New Bedford passed away Sunday July 7, 2019 at the Oaks Nursing Home.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Maurice H. and Margaret M. (Golden) Ronan, she lived in New Bedford all her life. She was a graduate of Holy Family High School and attended Newbury College.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Marguerite was formerly employed at the New Bedford Institution for Savings for 43 years until her retirement.
She was a member and Past President of the Catholic Woman's Club, the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and the Quota Club of New Bedford. She was also active with the Television Mass ministry for the Diocese of Fall River. She had volunteered at WHALE for over 18 years and was the recipient of the Carol A. Juneau Volunteer Award in 2004.
She is survived by many good friends with whom she enjoyed traveling with from Alaska to Australia and on many cruises.
She was predeceased by her brother, Maurice H. Ronan, Jr.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday July 11, 2019 at 10 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 9-10 AM at the Church. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
