Donald von den Driesch, 85, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully Saturday July 6, 2019, in Mary Immaculate Health Care Service in Lawrence, MA. He was born in Bronx, NY on April 13, 1934, a son of the late Herman and Doris (Phelps) von den Driesch, and had been a resident of Lawrence for the past 12 years, formerly living in Mamaroneck, NY. Donald proudly served his country in the US Army. He had been employed as a bus driver for the County of Westchester, NY for many years. He was a member of the Stratford Gun Collectors and was a collector of military history. Donald was also an avid photographer.
He is survived by one niece, Joan Boyer of Stratford, CT, a nephew, Earle Rosse and his wife Marcia of Londonderry, NH, two grand nieces, Kathleen Sperry and husband Taylor and Michelle Perillie and husband Michael and two great grandnieces, Sophia Perillie and Lily Perillie, whom he adored. He was predeceased by his brother Albert von den Driesch and a niece Carol Rosse.
There are no calling hours. Graveside services were held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 11:00am in the Riverside Cemetery, Old Saybrook, CT with Military Honors.
