Obituary

Palmyra, NY- M. Louise Kaempffe, 95, formerly of Palmyra, NY, Santa Cruz,
CA, Montville, N.J. and Hull, MA passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006 peacefully
at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center in Worcester. Her husband, Frederick
August Kaempffe, Jr., died in 1974, after 41 years of marriage.
She is survived by her three daughters, Marie L. Poll of Shady Cove, OR,
Claire Ann Reavey and her husband, Richard of New Braintree, and Karen
Jeanne Kaempffe of Oshkosh, Wisc. Louise was pre-deceased by her son and
daughter-in-law, Fred III and Michelena Kaempffe, of North Rose, N.Y., in
2001. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, although her courageous
grandson, Alex died in 2004. She has 14 great-grandchildren. She is
survived by two sisters, Sister Claire Frances Murray, SND of Ipswich and
Mrs. Polly Regan of Woburn. Her other siblings preceding her in death are
William Murray, Grace Myers, Leo Murray and Philip Murray.
Louise was born in Hyde Park, MA the first of eight children born to
William Maurice and Marie Louise (Bouscher) Murray. She graduated from
Hingham High School and Posse-Nissen School of Physical Education, Tufts
University. She later did post graduate work at Montclair State Teachers'
College.
Louise was a passionate educator, first as a pioneer in the field of
special education, and later as a teacher of physical education. She
believed physical fitness was a major component for a healthy life. She
played field hockey in high school and college, and later bowled on a
semipro team. She was a strong swimmer.
She also was an accomplished musician. As a girl, she studied piano and
violin at the Boston Conservatory. She played socially, as an adult, in her
home, which was often the site of family holiday celebrations and parties.
She was a fiery redhead, with a sparkle in her eye and a fun-loving spirit.
In her later years, she traveled around the country to visit her
children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Her advice to all:
'Love your family, let bygones be bygones.Learn the 4R's-reading, 'Riting,
'Rithmatic and Respect. Say your prayers"
A Memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 20th at 3:30 PM at
Notre Dame Long Term Care Center Chapel, 559 Plantation Street, Worcester.
