Christine P. Stone passed away peacefully at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 80 years old. Raised in Cambridge and Medford, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Agnes E (Carey) Bowen. Married for 60 years to Joseph Stone, with whom she attended St. John’s Grammar School in North Cambridge, Christine lived in Medford most of her life. A devoted and loving wife and mother, she enjoyed being at home and taking care of her family. She especially loved helping care for and raise her grandchildren. She loved being a grandmother. Christine was devoted to her many friends and enjoyed time with them as well. A devout and religious woman she was active at St. Joseph parish and school, she was a member of the Red Hat Ladies in Medford and enjoyed all things western: movies, music, fashion and even cowboy boots. She and Joe also loved to travel.
The beloved wife of Joseph P. Stone, she was a devoted mother to Patricia Donnelly of Medford and her late husband Brian, Elizabeth Liberty of Medford, Mark J. Stone of Stoneham and Karen Stone and her partner William Brady, Jr of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Kristen, Ryan, Sarah and Jake. Christine is loyally and lovingly survived by her dog Talula. She was a dear sister of the late John E. Bowen and his surviving wife Valerie and is also survived by many dear brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, July 12th at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday 4 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
