Obituary

Marion “Worm” Steverson, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, July 5, 2019, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at New Testament Holiness Church in the Queensland community, with Sister Charlotte Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Mrs. Steverson was born May 3, 1940, in Ware County, Georgia, to the late Calvin & Hattie King Layton. She escorted mobile homes under the handle “Lady Roadrunner”. She loved shopping and enjoyed flowers and hummingbirds. She loved her family dearly. She attended New Testament Holiness Church and loved the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ikie Steverson of Fitzgerald; children: Teddy Allen (Leona) Jordan of Waynesville, Harley David Jordan of Fitzgerald, Pamela Kay (Eric Glenn) Taylor of Fitzgerald, Donna Renee (Larry Wayne) Hogan of Cordele, Barbara Lynn Kennedy of Moultrie, Bobbie Jean “B.J. (Lacy) Hogan of Fitzgerald, Mary Ann Britt of Albany, and Karen (Tim) Barnes of Fitzgerald; 28 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Freddy Lawrence Jordan and 8 brothers and sisters.
