John Michael Prugh, age 64, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, left this life unexpectedly on July 5, 2019, following a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Bridget Kilgore-Prugh, of Londonderry; his only child, John Richard Cedric Prugh, of Raleigh, NC, his daughter-in-law, Cornelia D. Prugh, and his beloved grandchildren, Cornelia Ruth and John William Henry Prugh; as well as his brother, Scott M. Prugh of Texas, his sister, Lynne A. Housley of Georgia, three nieces and a nephew.
John was born in Los Angeles, CA, in 1954, the son of the late Dr. John D. Prugh and Sally W. Grove. He graduated from Central Bucks West High School in Chalfont, PA in 1972, and from The Pennsylvania State University in 1977. He worked for Amtrak as a civil engineer and project manager. After he retired in 2015, he was not content to sit around idly, so he worked as a substitute teacher at Londonderry High School until 2018, sharing his love of learning -- with a captive audience!
John was a renaissance man of many interests. His love of history and genealogy took him all over the United States, England, Germany, and Iceland in search of his ancestors. He loved to garden, travel, explore, and he had a passion for reading nearly everything.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, July 10th from 3:30-5:00 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, followed by a short time of sharing and remembrance. The family asks that in lieu of flowers you make a contribution in his name to a charity of your choice.
